Your Privacy Rights: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
What Does "Sale" or "Sharing" Mean Under CCPA?
The CCPA/CPRA defines "sale" and "sharing" broadly. "Sale" generally means disclosing personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration, and "sharing" generally means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Kodus's Position on Sale and Sharing
Kodus does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not operate advertising networks, we do not embed third-party advertising pixels on our Dashboard, and we do not disclose your account data, prompts, or workspace content to advertisers or data brokers.
We do disclose data to service providers and processors acting on our behalf strictly to operate the Services (such as third-party AI Model Providers for inference, Square for payment processing, and infrastructure and error-reporting providers). These disclosures are governed by contractual service-provider terms that prohibit use of the data for advertising and are not considered a "sale" or "sharing" under CCPA.
How to Confirm or Exercise Your Preference
Option 1: Submit a Formal Request
Even though we do not sell or share personal information, you may confirm this in writing by emailing us:
- Email: privacy@kodus.ai
- Subject: "CCPA Do Not Sell / Share Confirmation"
- Include: Your name, the email address associated with your Kodus account, and a statement that you wish to be on record as opting out of any sale or sharing of your personal information.
We will acknowledge your request within 15 business days and confirm our position in writing.
Option 2: Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information in the first place, a GPC signal from your browser will be logged as an additional confirmation of your preference.
To enable GPC:
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enable "Tell websites not to sell or share my data"
- Brave: GPC is enabled by default
- DuckDuckGo: GPC is enabled by default
- Other browsers: Install a GPC-compatible extension
What Happens When You Opt Out
Because Kodus does not sell or share personal information, opting out does not change the service you receive. Essential services, billing, agent functionality, and your access to session history will continue to work normally.
Your Other CCPA Rights
In addition to the right to opt out, California residents have the following rights:
- Right to Know: Request information about what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@kodus.ai or see our Privacy Policy.
Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We may ask you to:
- Provide your email address associated with your account
- Confirm certain details about your interactions with our services
- Provide additional documentation in some cases
